So if you've been reading my blog for a while, you've seen every step of the way leading up to Vincent and Louis' newborn photos. I shot the gender reveal party, the baby shower and not one, but two different maternity sessions before they arrived! AND GUESS WHAT! We're not even done yet, because we did two different newborn sessions too, one in studio and one at their home! Look forward to that in the next few weeks. I also foresee a lot of Vincent and Louis in my future, and I'm totally cool with it.
They were an absolute joy to photograph. These brothers slept like champs and didn't mind being posed all over each other. That might have to do with the 9 months they spent in really close quarters recently :)
Since twins aren't as common as a single baby, this was an exciting session for me to shoot. They tend to be very special because you can so easily see the intense connection between them, like in the photo below of the boys' hands. This was also the first time I got to use the vintage doll bed I got at Barntique Village in Moriches, which I fixed up and cleaned recently. That was really satisfying for the DIY crafter in me. I think I'm going to be using that prop a lot in the future!

"A father is someone you look up to, no matter how tall you grow."
I want to wish everyone out there a Happy Father's Day, to my awesome dad and amazing brothers who are such great fathers, to my uncles, and to my wonderful dad clients. Moms are usually the ones calling the shots during a photo shoot, but I always really appreciate the dads that show up and get involved in photos. While moms usually set up these sessions, dads are always there with silly voices and fart noises to make kids crack up. It always makes me happy to see how much dads will do to make their kids smile.
Enjoy your day, dads!

The second annual Pints-n-Paws Luau was a huge success and I'm so happy I was able to be there to photograph the fun for a second time. The luau was hosted by LI-DOG, an organization that helps to get more access for dogs to Long Island's beaches and parks. Ginny, Irene and all the other organizers and volunteers did such a fantastic job decorating and coordinating the event, which went off without a hitch. It was a crazy hot day, but there was plenty of water and shade and even a kiddy pool for the dogs to cool off in, so everyone was nice and comfortable, despite the heat.
It took place at Off Key Tikki, a Caribbean-themed beach bar in Patchogue. The beauty of the venue was matched by the unbearable cuteness of the many dogs in attendance. From tiny Chihuahuas to gigantic Irish Wolfhounds, all the dogs were amazingly well-behaved and snazzily dressed in leis, Hawaiian shirts and hula skirts. There was live music at the beach area, raffles, grilling and lots of fun contests for the dogs and owners to participate in. There were prizes for Biggest Lap Dog, Silliest Dog Trick and an island-themed owner and dog lookalike costume contest. There was also a photo booth with props for pups and pup parents to take selfies with.
I was very excited to meet the couple who won my raffle basket for a free photo shoot and $100 print credit. They've got adorable dogs that I can't wait to get in front of my camera lens! I'll update you when they come in for a session!

LI DOG is hosting the 2nd annual Pints-n-Paws Luau on June 11th! I'm very happy to be photographing it again this year. LI DOG is an organization that works to increase access for dogs to Long Island parks and beaches. They coordinate pack walks and park clean ups for Long Island dogs and their pup parents to participate in. For more information on this great group, check them out here.
The event is being held from 12-4pm at Off Key Tikki in Patchogue. The restaurant is located right on the water, has beautifully themed tropical decor and the food is excellent. Dogs and their owners can enjoy live music, contests, raffles, food and more.
I'll be donating another basket for their Chinese auction this year with a free photography session and $100 print credit. I met so many amazing dogs and their humans last year, including Joyce and Romeo, who won my basket last year!
