Nine times out of ten, moms are the ones who get in touch with me to book sessions. One thing a mom will always want is updated photos of their families to decorate their homes, show off on social media, display on their desks at work, etc.

Whether you have a mom, wife, dog mom, cat mom, aunt or grandma to celebrate this Mother's Day, photos are always a gift they'll appreciate!

While it's too late to book a session with me in time for Mother's Day, it's never too late to give the gift of a photography session.

You can purchase e-gift cards from me that will be sent instantly to your recipient's email! Or you can send the gift card to yourself to print out and put in a card for your loved one.

If time got the better of you this year and you're scrambling for something heartfelt, the gift of photography is something that the mom in your life will always adore. Sessions can take place in my home studio in Farmingville, at the client's house or on location within Suffolk County, Long Island.

My gift cards are available in any amount over $25. Most gift-givers choose to cover my session fee ($150 for regular sessions, $250 for newborn sessions) and a little extra to include a few photo prints. You can find all my pricing information and product menu here, and when you're ready,
purchase e-gift cards here!

Merry First Christmas to Keirla! This lovely lady is a cousin to another adorable little client of mine named Annaliese. I photographed Annaliese as a newborn and then again this past fall for family photos with her mom and dad. Annaliese's mom referred me to her brother and sister-in-law and I was so happy when they reached out to book a session with me. It means so much to me when people pass my name along to their friends and family, and I was honored to be able to help capture some nice memories for little Keirla's First Christmas!

The family came to my studio for their session, so we had a ton of options and were able to incorporate lots of different backdrops, outfits, and props in the photos. Keirla is such a calm and happy baby and she let us go through so many different setups and did such a great job. Mom and Dad even hopped in for some family photos at the end of the session, which I love! Here are some of my favorite shots we got that day!

This session is a throwback to when I got to meet my beautiful baby cousin Riley! I had so much fun photographing the newest member of my family Riley’s dad is my cousin and we were so close growing up, so this session was really special for me. The whole time I was photographing little Riley, we reminisced about our childhood and our awesome grandmas.

My grandma Freida (AKA Mema) and Robbie’s grandmother Celeste were sisters and thick as thieves. My Aunt Celeste was always the life of the party with a quick wit and a sharp tongue. Mema was a quiet and calm sweetheart whose house was the center of our family gatherings for so many years. They were the perfect contrast to each other and they both loved all the kids in the family fiercely. We had such fun times with the rest of our cousins growing up and I hope the next generation of cousins in our family has just as many special family memories as we do!

Robbie and his wife are such amazing people and I’m so happy for them and their new addition. Welcome to the family, Riley! Here are some of my favorite photos from our session!

Little Stella is so smiley because this year is her First Christmas! Actually, she's just always smiley because she's a super happy baby. But she was really happy to go with her big sister Addison and her mom Lauren (one of my besties) and dad Mike to Prosser Pines this year for family photos!

Every year there seems to be one spot that get super popular with my clients. One year it was Blydenburgh Park, another year it was Islip Grange. This year it was definitely Prosser Pines in Middle Island. I always give clients a few suggestions based on the kind of backdrop they want, and this spot was the big hit this year. I think maybe because it's in the woods where we can spread out and there aren't a lot of people there, so it turns out to be a good venue for photography in the age of COVID-19.

When we met for this session, the leaves were at their most beautiful I think. The color of the fall foliage was so gorgeous, and the girls did such a good job!
Here are some of my favorite photos from our session!

Are you tired of posts entitled "Seth's First ________"? Then this isn't the blog for you :D
Aunt Laura will never get tired of pulling her photogenic little nephew into the studio at every opportunity. Especially during his first year, I just can't help but document every little moment I can. Let's be honest, even after he's one, I'm probably not going to stop. Apologies in advance.

I realized recently that of all the pets I've photographed, I've never had the occasion to take photos of a rabbit for a client, so I had to improvise and make Seth my little bunny rabbit this year. 9 months is a really fun age to photograph because at this point, Seth can sit up really well and he loves to hold things, so he'll pretty much take any prop that I hand him. The only thing that was difficult to deal with was the fact that he recently started to crawl, so keeping him still was a little bit of an issue! When he got to the point where he was really raring to go, I popped him into a little wooden crate and that did the trick!

I'm so excited to see Seth enjoy his first Easter. I know for a fact he's going to be getting at least 3 Easter baskets, which I know is overkill, but our family is just too obsessed with him. We had a couple of years of tough times before he came along and even after, so this beautiful smiling baby is the apple of everyone's eye. I just can't help but be happy when I see this boy smile.

Here's our bunny boy.

If you don't know who Seth is, this must be your first time at my blog. Seth is my beautiful baby nephew. He’s 9 months old now and he had his Christening on April 7th. He’s such a sweet and happy boy usually, but the weekend of his Christening happened to fall on a particularly stormy period for little Seth. He’s teething now and that weekend really seemed to be a tough time for him. Even though he had a little bit of a crankier day than normal, so many of his friends and family gathered around to celebrate him and it was a great day.
I took these photos a few days before the Baptism, when he was a tad bit happier!
I tried to document as much of the day as I could, from getting him dressed, to the ceremony, to the party afterward. Here are some of my favorite photos from the day of the Christening!
I love this little man. Keep a look out in a few months for his first birthday party! I can’t wait!

It’s been a little bit of a crazy time over here at Laura Pea Photography! I try to dedicate a blog post to most sessions I do, but this V-Day season got away from me. If you follow along on my Instagram (@laurapeaphotography), you’ll have seen all these photos but I decided to do a roundup post of the sessions I did for Valentine’s Day this year for those that follow my blog!

First up is my nephew Seth! This is his first Valentine’s Day and I was so excited to get him in the studio to use some of the props I’ve been accumulating over the years! He’s so used to the click of my camera and the flash of my lights, so he did an amazing job!
Next is Juliette and Owen! I photographed them at two of the pet portrait programs I did at the Islip Public Library and then I was honored to photograph Juliette’s 1st birthday photos! They came back for her 18 month photos to surprise their dad whose birthday is the day before Valentine’s Day. They had so much fun playing around with the props I have in the studio! I love how these came out! Jules has such a brilliant smile and Owen is such a great older brother, who was so happy to pose with his little sister.
Next are my little girl Gracey’s photos! I always take photos of her when I’m figuring out my setups for sessions. She’s always happy to model for me, especially because she knows there are freeze-dried beef liver treats in it for her!
Finally is my cousin Peyton’s Valentine’s Day photos! Peyton’s mom Lori is the reason why I have this very cute little play kitchen. She saw it for sale online and told me about it. I agreed it would be a very cute addition to the studio and picked it up. Peyton was very happy to play with it in exchange for a few beautiful smiles toward the camera!
I hope everyone had a great Valentine’s Day!

Everyone in my family is all abuzz, because it’s my nephew Seth’s First Christmas! Even though he’s only 5 months old and he has NO idea what’s going on, that hasn’t stopped anyone from buying him veritable mountains of presents.

The amount of Christmas outfits we’ve put him in this month is also staggering. If you saw his newborn photo blog posts (Part One, Part Two, and Part Three :D), you know it took me three days to be satisfied with the amount of photos I’d taken. The same thing happened with his Christmas photos! I did a bunch the first day, but the next day and the next day I was still sneaking him upstairs to the studio to do a couple more! I haven’t even taken all the Christmas photos I want to take of him, either! I’m planning on some really cute ones to take on Christmas Day when we open up his plethora of presents!

Here are Seth’s 1st Christmas Photos!

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Abigail’s mom and I used to work together at my first job ever, Big Lots! We haven’t seen each other in a few years, so it was a lot of fun to catch up with her and meet her sweet little girl Abigail!

She’s one of the happiest babies I’ve seen in a long time! I didn’t have to break out any of my silly stuff to make her laugh. She had pretty much a permanent smile on her face from the time she got into the studio until it was time for her to leave! She made my job nice and easy!

She liked holding onto the props we had for her, and she was overjoyed to snuggle with her parents for some family shots! Here are some of my favorite photos from our session!

My little nephew Seth could possibly be the most photographed baby on record. I haven't confirmed with the folks at the Guinness Book of World Records, but if our family's limited phone space and full memory cards are any indication, he's got a good shot at the title. I've been trying to get a good professional shot at every milestone, so his first Halloween certainly counts, especially because this is my favorite holiday! And of course, we had an outfit change in the middle of the shoot :) The first outfit is a glow in a dark skeleton shirt I bought him for his first Halloween, and the second is his first Halloween costume ever!!

"...it's the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man."
"There's something you don't see every day."

And of course, at Laura Pea Photography, the dogs always have to be involved...

Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween!
