I'm happy to announce I'll be back at the Islip Public Library for a third time to photograph patrons' pets on their wonderful terrace! The program will be on September 21st from 10am-12pm, with a rain date of September 22nd from 12pm-2pm, in case of inclement weather!
Bring your cat, dog, or any other pet (I’ve had people bring ferrets, rats, turtles, and more!). Make sure all animals are clean and able to behave near other animals. Please bring your pet on a leash or in a carrier. You’ll receive one free printed photo, which you can pick up from the library about a week or so after the program!
In person registration opens tomorrow, September 4th, at 6pm at the library. Online registration opens tomorrow at 9pm. Telephone registration opens the next day, September 5th at 9am.

I love doing these types of programs, because I get to meet a lot of local animal lovers. Long Island families really adore their pets, and I'm so happy to be able to give them a chance to let their pets get the spotlight.

It turns out my pet portrait program at the Sayville Library just happened to coincide with a major heatwave on Long Island, but that didn’t keep the pet lovers from coming out to get photos of their beloved animals. We lucked out that the library building perfectly shaded the courtyard we were doing the program in, and there was a nice breeze back there that made it actually a very comfortable setting. The library and I also made sure to provide fans to keep the patrons and their pets comfortable, and we had lots of bowls of water around to refresh the pets that were there for their closeup.
This is was my first time doing a program at the Sayville Library and I was impressed by their beautiful courtyard. The inside of the library is really amazing too. If you have a chance to visit for a program, I’d really recommend it. We had 10 families bring their pets for a photo, which is a pretty good turnout considering it was my first time doing a program there and Long Island’s ambient temperature was slightly below that of Hell on that day! Thank you so much to the Sayville patrons who came out, and to the sweet and dedicated out of district patron Gail who brought the beautiful Muishi in for a photo! I'll be doing another pet portrait program but at a new library this time! On July 20th, I'll be at the Sayville Library taking pet portraits in their courtyard! Registration for the program begins on June 18th. Registration is limited to Sayville Library cardholders for two weeks, and then program registration will open up to out of district patrons from other Long Island libraries on July 2nd!
The program will be held on July 20th from 10am to 12pm, first come, first served. Your pet can enjoy a solo portrait or you can join them for a family photo. I was so excited to get a call from mom to be Michelle asking me to shoot her gender reveal. Then she surprised me with the fact that it was also going to be her sister’s gender reveal, who was pregnant with twins! They’re so close in their pregnancies, one sister is only a handful of days further along than the other. This is a really amazing time for their family, with so much love coming their way, and getting to have three exciting surprises in one day! I was so honored to be there to document them finding out what they’re both expecting.

pink confetti! Michelle is having a girl! The look on her face was priceless. I could tell this is what she’d been dreaming of!

Daniela and Mustafa went next, after the clean up crew took care of clearing the floor of pink confetti (don’t ask me how they’re going to get that stuff out of Daniela’s chandelier)!

If you don't know who Seth is, this must be your first time at my blog. Seth is my beautiful baby nephew. He’s 9 months old now and he had his Christening on April 7th. He’s such a sweet and happy boy usually, but the weekend of his Christening happened to fall on a particularly stormy period for little Seth. He’s teething now and that weekend really seemed to be a tough time for him. Even though he had a little bit of a crankier day than normal, so many of his friends and family gathered around to celebrate him and it was a great day.
I took these photos a few days before the Baptism, when he was a tad bit happier!

At our holiday pet portrait mini session event at Barkfield Road in November, I was telling owner Carol about a red play kitchen I had gotten as a prop for the studio and she suggested we try a mini session event with it for Valentine’s Day. It made total sense since Barkfield Road is such a great place to buy baked doggy goodies! We called our event “Baking Up Some Love”!
I brought some kitchen themed props like a chef’s hat and apron and a toy cupcake tray. We filled every appointment of the day and got great shots of the pups and a nice donation for the Dotty Fund! Carol and I always have a very fun time during these events and I love meeting so many dogs and their owners. Her employees Vicky and Nicolette are so helpful! Go visit Barkfield Road if you’re in the area. They have such a great selection of products for pets and I know every time I go there, I’m getting something high quality and safe for my Gracey.
I hope to keep doing more events like this!

I was back at Barkfield Road for the second year in a row for a mini session event benefiting The Dotty Fund. The Dotty Fund provides financial assistance to pet owners to take care of their animals during difficult times so that they can stay with their owners, where they belong.
The mini session event was a great success. Every half hour, more and more cute dogs came in for their appointment and they all did so well! Orders from that day raised $400 in donations for the fund, which is going to do a lot of good for pups and their parents on Long Island.
Thank you so much to everyone who brought their dogs in, and for Carol at Barkfield Road for hosting the event. If you’ve never been to Carol’s store with your dog, you’re missing out. Her treats are so beautifully decorated and she carries only the best treats, toys and supplies for dogs. Every time I go in there, it’s a definite that Gracey is going to get something special. Here are my favorite photos from the event! Look out for a possible Valentine’s Day event coming in February!

This is the third year I’ve been back to the Middle Country Public Library for a pet portrait program and this was our best year yet. We had 30 pets come in with their owners to get a winter portrait done. A lot of pets came dressed to the nines because the program started right after their annual pet parade.
After they were done getting their photograph taken by me in front of the winter wonderland scene the library had set up, they went over to the green screen station where program runner Sara took a snapshot of them in front of the green screen and then added a digital background of their choosing. It was double the photo fun and I think the patrons really enjoyed it!
I met some awesome pets and parents and was really glad to see that a lot of families came back for a second and sometimes third year for another portrait with me. It makes me feel great that they enjoyed the program and their photo so much that they wanted to come back again and again!

I was glad to be there for another fun Yappy Hour event hosted by Daniela of Who Lets Your Dog Out at New Village Apartments in Patchogue. This time around was Halloween themed, so all the pups came in their best costumes! They were all so beautifully dressed and wonderfully behaved.
Dog trainer Paul from Pawesome Dogs was there showing off some cool dog toys, and Lisa from Bake You Happy Today was there selling her delicious treats for humans and dogs alike.

My friends Dina and Mike are having a baby! If you've visited the blog before, you might have seen their other babies (the furry kind) Sandy and Jack. The baby coming in October is a human one, though, of the little boy variety! My friends and I are so excited for these two, so we decided to throw her a baby shower to celebrate her and the new little guy we can't wait to meet! I, of course, was happy to photograph the festivities.

We had such a fun day and a very beautiful moment to cap it all off. At the end of the party, when Mike came to pick up Dina and their load of presents, we gave them a very special gift that our crafty friend Lauren had made. Mike's father passed away earlier this year and it was an incredibly tough time for his family. Lauren spoke to Mike's mother the week before the shower and picked up a shirt that had belonged to Mike's dad and made it into a pillow for the new baby.
There was a good deal of eye-drying after that.

I'm so happy for these two. They're going to make amazing parents. I can tell you for a fact that this kid is going to have a lot of laughter in his life, because Dina and Mike are two of the funniest people I know. Keep a look out sometime in October for his newborn session. I can't wait!!
