I first met Cindy and Bella at one of my Barkfield Road holiday mini session events years ago. I love doing those kind of events because I get to meet a ton of pet owners who love their animals the same way I do. As the years went on, Cindy followed along on my email list and attended a lot of the events I do at libraries and pet stores where I got to know her and Bella better. She and Bella have an incredibly deep bond and go most everywhere together. Bella’s a special dog and Cindy does everything in her power to keep her as active and healthy as possible even in her senior years. She's an incredible advocate for her dog.

We had talked about doing a full session together for a long time and I was so excited when we finally got a photo shoot on the books by the water in Port Jefferson last summer. We got started in front of the beautiful Danford’s and walked along the marina, stopping at the many gorgeous spots along the way. We worked our way down the harbor, took walks up and down the docks, and through the park that leads to the beach. Bella got to dip her toes in the water and then as a reward for how amazing she did at the session, Cindy threw Bella's favorite ball around for her on the lawn and I got some great action shots of her doing her favorite thing. As the sun went down, we walked back along the harbor and took some silhouette shots of the two of them against the sunset. While we did the session to celebrate Bella, I'm glad Cindy got into a few shots with her. A lot of people are hesitant to take photos with their pup, but I think it's important to showcase the beautiful connection between people and the pets they love.

After our session, Cindy and I worked closely to put together the perfect album to display her favorite photos from the session, which there were a lot of because Bella did such a great job. The best part was the reveal of her canvas though. Cindy got her favorite shot, a close up of Bella's beautiful face with a focus on her eyes, printed on a 20x30 canvas. Her face when she saw it for the first time is something a photographer lives for. Clients who truly appreciate what I do are the reason I stay so in love with photography and Cindy is one of them. I'm actually going to see her and Bella again later today at my Valentine's Day photo event at Pawcasso in Westhampton Beach. Thank you so much to Cindy for trusting me to create special memories for you!

Here are some of my favorite shots from our session!

It was great to be back at the Islip Public Library for another pet portrait program on their outdoor terrace. We did a holiday theme again this year with some props I brought and some that the library had. We had 28 families join us that day with 37 dogs and 2 guinea pigs! It was a packed event and so much fun. Every time I do one of these events, it's clear to me how much Long Islanders love their animals.

Thank you to the library for having me and to all the families who came out and braved the cold for a photo of their pet!

Here are some of the photos we got that day!

It's always wonderful to be back at Barkfield Road in East Northport for holiday pet portraits. I've been doing photo events at this adorable pet boutique since 2017. Over the years it's changed ownership and layout, but what hasn't changed is the amazing support of the community of pet lovers in the area.

We've learned over the years that a one day event just isn't enough to satisfy all the dog lovers who want a holiday photo at their favorite pet store. Last year we added on a second date due to high demand, but had to do it a week later because of my packed holiday schedule. This year we planned it early so we could book two days in a row, so I was able to leave my setup there overnight for a weekend packed with pet photos. We were fully booked which was great, because the event is a fundraiser for the Dotty Fund. The Dotty Fund provides financial assistance for Long Island families who are having a hard time paying for medical treatment for their animals.

Thank you so much to the owners of Barkfield Road, Gabriella and Kevin, for having me again. Thank you to their wonderful employees for their help throughout the event, and thank you to everyone who brought their dogs in for photos!

Here are some of the adorable shots we got that day.

I had so much fun at the Fall and Halloween pet photo event at Pawcasso Art Studio & Pet Boutique, I was so happy to go back again the next month for a Holiday pet photo shoot! I brought winter, Christmas and Hanukkah props for folks to choose from. We had a lot of people come in with their pups to get a photo, a goodie bag from Pawcasso and to spoil their dog with their wonderful treats.

I even got a behind the scenes glimpse of how they make their amazing single ingredient treats that they're famous for. My dog Gracey is absolutely obsessed, so it was really cool to see the process that goes into making them!

It was so nice to photograph Dewey and Great Dane mix Frida, the owner Barbara's dogs. I said to her at one point, "I think Frida will be the largest pup we see today" and she said to me "No way, wait until Ripley comes in". Frida's best dog friend Ripley, a full Great Dane, was possibly the tallest dog I've ever seen in my life. She made Frida look petite, and it was so funny to see them wrestle and play. They have NO idea how big they are and they're so adorable together.

Thank you so much to Barbara for having me back and her employee Bailey who helped out that day! If you're ever in the Westhampton Beach area, please stop by their amazing store, and if you're not on Long Island, buy their treats online! Your dog will thank you for it!

Here are some of the great shots we got that day!

My lovely client Kelly is always the first one to reach out to me every year about Christmas photos. She likes to get everything done well in advance and I love that! I'm always so busy around November for Christmas sessions that I have to turn people away because I just don't have the time. More people should think about getting their Christmas photos done in July! We had gorgeous weather and plenty of daylight to work with, and no one froze their butt off to get the perfect shot. As they do every year, Laci, Luci and Levi did an amazing job for their photos. We had the extra pleasure of getting to include Kelly's nephew's dog Abbey, an adorable Dachshund pup, in the photos too. She is simply too cute.

This year Kelly went with a gingerbread theme for the photos and she had a wonderful setup all planned out for us when we got there. She even gifted me the adorable gingerbread house prop we used, and it made its way into many of my Christmas photo sessions for the rest of the holiday season.

After we finished our Christmas photos, the pups changed outfits for more fancy photos. We took some on top of a special memorial bench dedicated to Kelly's beloved late dog Lexi. It's always a pleasure to photograph these special pups.

Here are some of my favorite photos from our session that day!

Happy Halloween! I was so happy to have my first photo shoot at Pawcasso Art Studio and Pet Boutique! My dog Gracey has been obsessed with their treats for a long time. I haven't met one dog who doesn't love their single-ingredient treats! Get yours here! It was great to be able to visit their beautiful space, where they hold art classes, Paint Your Pup nights, and all sorts of special events.

I brought two backdrops for this event, a Halloween one and a Fall one and people were able to choose between them. Everyone who attended actually opted to do both and all the pups were cooperative and adorable for their photos!! After they had their photo shoot, Barbara of Pawcasso helped them create a paw print painting, and provided them with delicious doggy ice cream and a goodie bag of toys and treats from the store. It was such a fun day, and I'm excited to announce I'll be back there next weekend (11/9 from 12-4pm) for a holiday photo shoot! I'll be bringing multiple backdrops and winter, Christmas and Hanukkah props for people to choose from.

Sign up for that here!

I had such a great time at LI-Dog's Pooch-a-Palooza this summer, and I was so happy to be invited back by the group to photograph their Howl-o-ween party! The event was held again at the beautiful Pine Grove Inn in Patchogue. There were a lot of great vendors there, including Rachel the Dog Trainer for You, My Canine's Keeper, Collar Crush, and the sponsor for the prizes for winners of the costume contest, Who's Your Doggy Long Island. DJ Mike Kaplow was also there as usual providing great music for the event!

There were also some wonderful raffle baskets donated by a ton of locals and Long Island businesses. I was excited to meet the pup whose owners won my raffle basket, and I hope to hear from them soon to shoot his free session! Long Island Dog volunteers had set up some adorable photo booth scenes for pups and their owners to take photos in front of. They were also on hand to make some adorable paw print art for them, which came out so cute. There were games, a special menu from Pine Grove Inn, and a great demonstration from My Canines Keeper's Ebonie and her creatively tiger-striped pup Hades. The costumes that the dogs and owners showed up in for the costume contest were so creative! Thank you so much to Long Island Dog for having me, and especially Ginny, Peggy and Joann for putting on such a wonderful event for all the pups and their parents!

Here are the photos I got that day!
