My heart melted a little when Christian’s mom told me why she wanted to book a photo session for her son. She wanted to gift the photos to her husband for his first Father’s Day. She especially wanted to try to recreate a special photo taken of him when he was a kid, of him with two Mickey Mouse stuffed toys. Being a big Disney lover, I was so glad she asked me to help her with this very sweet portrait session.
Christian did so well in the studio! Some kids have a tough time sitting up at seven months old, but he did a great job. I couldn’t get over his very inquisitive beautiful blue eyes. He really enjoyed pushing the Radio Flyer around, and that made for my favorite photo of the day.

I always love when clients give the gift of photography. It's so meaningful and that meaning will last for generations. Making a tradition of photos means the memories will go on way beyond our time. Every time we have a Rising Tide Society meeting, it’s good for my business. But never before have I felt the benefit as quickly as I did during our last meeting. We met at Croxley’s in Smithtown and I had the pleasure of meeting our newest member Matt of Mateo Val’e Productions. We got to talking about our businesses and by the end of the night, he had booked me for a session the very next day to bring in Max for pet portraits!
Max is Matt’s dad’s dog and they have a very close relationship. He secretly brought Max in to give the photos to his dad for Father’s Day. I’m so glad he did because it was such a fun session. Max is such a sweetheart and a really beautiful dog. I love his different colored eyes. Here are some of my favorite photos from his session!

I'm so glad the Islip Public Library asked me back for a second time to do another pet portrait program on their garden terrace. It's such a beautiful spot. We got even more dogs this year! I was so excited to see so many furry faces there for a photo. The dogs were so well-behaved and a lot of them did a great job "smiling" for the camera :) These programs are always a lot of fun for me. I love to meet these awesome dogs and their owners, and I think it's really important for dog lovers to get beautiful photos of your furry family members. Thanks so much to the Islip Public Library for having me back, and to all the patrons who participated in the program!

I love going to Yappy Hour hosted by Who Lets Your Dog Out, a local dog sitter/walker here on Long Island. She puts on these awesome dog fairs with lots of pet vendors and demos, and they're always a lot of fun. She hosted two in two weeks, so I'm going to combine the photos into one post! The first one was held at New Village apartments in Patchogue. The second was held at The Point at Pine Ridge complex in Coram. Vendors included Taylor's Treasures, who makes handmade fashion accessories for dogs and cats, Paws and Claws 911, who teaches CPR classes for pets, and Pawesome Dogs, a dog trainer. Oh, and me! I met lots of awesome dogs and owners and was there to document the events!

Say hello to little Leyla! I had the pleasure of meeting her and her older sister Kaira when I photographed their family portraits and then her newborn photos last month. I’ve known her parents for several years, because they worked at the physical therapy office my sister and I went to years ago. They were just dating when we went there, so it’s really sweet to see that they’re now married with two adorable kiddos!
This session was photographed in their home. It was so great to be able to catch up with them and meet Kaira and Leyla! Kaira was so sweet with her new baby sister. I can tell they're going to be the best of friends. I know from experience that having a sister so close in age means that you're always going to have a play mate and a confidant in your life at all times. Here are my favorite photos from the session!

I was so glad to be at LI-DOG's 3rd Annual Pints-n-Paws Luau at Off Key Tikki in Patchogue for the 3rd year in a row. LI-DOG is an organization that helps to get more access for dogs to Long Island's beaches and parks. Every year I have so much fun at this event. The restaurant is right on the water and the decor is beautiful. It feels like a tropical paradise. Then you add dozens of adorable dogs, and it is truly an amazing experience. There's also contests, music, raffles and free food from the grill. Everyone says that Memorial Day is the unofficial start of the summer, but the Pints-n-Paws Luau is when summer really begins for me. I also donated a basket to their raffle with a free session and a print credit, so I look forward to shooting that some day soon!
