Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation will always hold a special place in my heart. I adopted my beloved Basil, who inspired me to start doing pet photography, from them in 2012. That's why I'm happy to give a little back to them, by donating a raffle basket for the Chinese auction they're doing at their 7th Annual Benefit at the Boardy Barn. The event is being held at Boardy Barn in Hampton Bays on September 10th, 2016 from 6pm-10pm. Besides the Chinese auction, there will also be a 50-50 raffle, silent auction, door prizes and a buffet dinner. Tickets are $35 in advance or $40 at the door. There will be live music by Long Island classic rock band Second Shift, and the organizers request attendees bring a donation of dog or cat food to supply their food pantry.
My raffle basket will include a free newborn, pet or family photo session and a $100 print credit toward product purchases from that session, along with a few fun extras for the basket winner and their pet.

Say hi to Jack AKA Jacko, AKA Lil' Jackie, AKA Kangaroo Jack (I just gave him that last one, because he can seriously hop so high straight up into the air, it's insane). He is an ace at playing fetch, and don't underestimate him by his tiny little legs; this dog can RUN. Jack is one of the sweetest, happiest dogs I've ever met, and a talented
studio model to boot. He did such a good job when I was photographing him!

I think that Jack looks a little bit like the sweetheart Frodo that I photographed a few weeks ago, if Frodo was hit with a shrink ray. They have a similar coat color, crazy big ears, and are outrageously cute. My best friend is having a baby!
I'm so excited for my bestie Lauren and her husband Mike, who are expecting a bundle of joy this December. This past weekend, they included their friends and family in on the fun of finding out whether they're having a boy or a girl at their gender reveal party. I brought my camera along to document the festivities. The beautiful cake was sitting on the dining room table throughout the party, tantalizing everyone with the secret it held inside. Until the parents-t0-be cut into it, only the sonogram tech and the baker knew whether the layers inside would be blue or pink....

When guests entered the party, they cast their votes on the scoreboard for what they thought the baby would be. I took a long hard look at Lauren's belly..........and turns out I have neither psychic capabilities nor x-ray vision so I was pretty much drawing a blank. I decided to go with what I hoped the baby would be: a girl, because it meant I could buy her adorable little dresses and headbands. Also, the little pink tutu pin I got as a result matched my shirt better ;)
By the time it was ready for the big event, the votes were pretty much split down the middle. I believe the final count was 11 for boy and 12 for girl.
