I’m very excited to announce I’ll be shooting holiday pet portraits at Barkfield Road in East Northport on November 5th from 10am-6pm. Barkfield Road is a boutique pet supply store with an amazing “barkery” with adorable baked goods for dogs. Owner Carol is a dedicated animal lover and I’m so happy she contacted me to partner up for this fun event. Proceeds will benefit the Dotty McMorrow Sandmann Animal Rescue Fund, which provides financial assistance to families who are having difficulty caring for their pet’s medical needs. The Dotty Fund helps to keep pets at home with their owners instead of ending up in a shelter. I’m very proud to be helping out such a worthy organization.
Photo sessions will run for 30 minutes with a sitting fee of $25. Sitting fees will be waived if clients purchase more than $25 of prints or products. I’ll be offering small prints, metal ornaments and holiday cards. Products will be available for pickup at Barkfield Road 2 weeks after the event. I’ll be bringing a white backdrop with twinkly lights shown below. I’ll also have holiday props available for clients to choose from.

I was so excited when Daniela from Who Lets Your Dog Out asked me to join her at the monthly dog fair she hosts at New Village in Patchogue. She put together such a fun event for dogs and dog lovers alike. I met so many adorable pups. I was in my glory!
Woof Woof Mobile Grooming was there doing nail clippings and teeth cleanings for dogs. Paul from Pawesome Dogs did a demonstration on how to secure your dog in a car for their safety while driving, which is so important! Tom from Paws n Claws 911 did a demo on what to do if your pet is choking. I learned a lot from that and I'm looking forward to taking his class in the future.
Daniela also put together a fantastic raffle with the proceeds benefiting One Love Dog Rescue, who had two adorable black lab puppies there. I was so happy to be at Yappy Hour and I look forward to more events like this!

Kent Animal Shelter has been saving the lives of Long Island's homeless animals for decades. They also do education and outreach with local schools, bring pets to patients with their pet therapy program, and have a cat retirement home for cats whose owners have passed or can no longer care for them. Personally, they gave my family an amazing gift when we adopted our Irish Wolfound mix Whiskey there in 1996. He gave our family 11 years of unconditional love, and for that we can never repay them.
For the last 3 years, however, we've tried our best to give them back a little of what they gave us. That's why, for the fourth year in a row, we are walking in their Wines and Canines Fundraiser at Baiting Hollow Farm Vineyard and Horse Rescue. In the last 3 walks, we have raised over $2,000 and we hope to add a lot to that this year. They have taken in dogs displaced from the recent devastating hurricanes, so they need our support more now than ever. Please donate or share this fundraiser with an animal lover you know.

Since last year's fall pet portrait program was such a success, I'm so happy to report that the Middle Country Public Library has invited me back for another round of pet portraits! This year's program will have a Winter Wonderland theme and is open to all patrons of the library that are registered for the program. All pets should be clean, well-behaved around other animals, and on a leash.
The program will be held on Saturday, October 21st from 1-3pm in the Children's Section of the library. There will also be a pet parade happening in the Nature Explorium right before the program begins.

Andrew is a remarkable kid. I first met him at my pet portrait program at the Islip Public Library in July. He was the first one there bright and early, and he helped us set up and move around props before the program started. I was really impressed by what a gentleman he was. When his mom called me to book a portrait session to commemorate his achieving his Eagle Scout medal, I was very excited to work with him and his adorable dogs Alpha and Chris again.
Andrew and his love of animals reminds me a lot of myself as a kid. I had so many different kinds of pets when I was younger. I was always convincing my parents to let me have lizards and rodents and birds and dogs and cats. Andrew's family is so similar. At their session, I met a turtle, a HUGE fish, a frog, a bearded dragon, a bunch of chickens and even a hedgehog! I might even be forgetting some, but it was a veritable menagerie in there and I loved it.
Andrew even obtained his Eagle Scout award by helping animals. He worked with the Islip Animal Shelter hosting an adoption fair that got a bunch of pets adopted into their forever homes. There are a lot of happy pets on Long Island that have Andrew to thank. I'd like to congratulate him on obtaining his Eagle Scout medal and wish him lots of luck at his Court of Honor! Like the hurricane she was named after, Sandy is a force to be reckoned with. She is a powerful little ball of energy disguised as a dog, with one of the most bombastic and playful personalities I've ever encountered. I was so excited to have her and her mom come visit the studio for some portraits. I photographed her brother Jack last summer and I love how they look so much alike, even though there's no real biological relation.

I loved being a part of the Furry Friends Portrait Program at the Islip Public Library. It was so much fun meeting all the dogs that came in with their owners. All the pets were so well-behaved and (with the help of my trusty squeaky pig toy) they all looked right into the camera! I got a lot of great shots of these adorable pups and their owners. If you're a patron of the Islip Public Library, I encourage you to go check out their new courtyard where the program was held. It's a really lovely space with beautiful flowers, statues and really comfortable rocking chairs. The dogs definitely loved it!

The second annual Pints-n-Paws Luau was a huge success and I'm so happy I was able to be there to photograph the fun for a second time. The luau was hosted by LI-DOG, an organization that helps to get more access for dogs to Long Island's beaches and parks. Ginny, Irene and all the other organizers and volunteers did such a fantastic job decorating and coordinating the event, which went off without a hitch. It was a crazy hot day, but there was plenty of water and shade and even a kiddy pool for the dogs to cool off in, so everyone was nice and comfortable, despite the heat.
It took place at Off Key Tikki, a Caribbean-themed beach bar in Patchogue. The beauty of the venue was matched by the unbearable cuteness of the many dogs in attendance. From tiny Chihuahuas to gigantic Irish Wolfhounds, all the dogs were amazingly well-behaved and snazzily dressed in leis, Hawaiian shirts and hula skirts. There was live music at the beach area, raffles, grilling and lots of fun contests for the dogs and owners to participate in. There were prizes for Biggest Lap Dog, Silliest Dog Trick and an island-themed owner and dog lookalike costume contest. There was also a photo booth with props for pups and pup parents to take selfies with.
I was very excited to meet the couple who won my raffle basket for a free photo shoot and $100 print credit. They've got adorable dogs that I can't wait to get in front of my camera lens! I'll update you when they come in for a session!

Canvases are my favorite way to showcase artwork on the wall. The way it pops out from the surface just makes it feel a little more impressive than a regular print. I offer options to frame these canvases, but I also like the look of them bare, which is what you see here. There are three ways to customize the outside wrapped edge of the image: with white, with black or with the outer edges of your image wrapping around. That last option requires a photo with a good amount of space around the subject of the photograph. My samples show a white edge wrap, which I think matches the light and airy feel of the room. This is the edge option that is most popular with my clients. All canvases are finished with sawtooth hangers on the back and bumpers to keep your wall protected.
The professional print lab that I order my products from uses museum-quality, archival papers and inks to ensure that my clients' prints will last generations. I'm proud to say that all the products I offer are hand-crafted in the US with recycled paper in a facility with solar power.
It's important to me to offer high-quality products because my clients are very important to me and so are their images.

Tula Kitchen in Bay Shore is hosting a fundraiser this Sunday, March 19th, to benefit Little Shelter in Huntington. There will be live music, hors d'oeuvres, a Chinese auction, adoptable dogs to meet outside the event and more! I've donated the basket below for their Chinese auction with a free photo shoot and $100 print credit.
