Merry 1st Christmas to Vincent and Louis! These two looked so dapper in their Christmas outfits. We all know babies are cute, but put a bow tie on them? This is a whole other level of aww we’re talking about here. They even brought along their Christmas jammies to take a few photos in.
These kids are definitely used to me flashing my lights in their face, because I’ve photographed pretty much every step of the way. Because of that, they extended me the considerable courtesy of not spitting up until we were right at the tail end of the session. It was so much appreciated! :D

Meet Cowboy and Ziggy! This dynamic duo might be mismatched in size, but not in energy. Ziggy, the little brown mix, is a tripod pup, but he doesn’t let that stop him. He keeps up with his big brother just fine. Cowboy the coonhound is the epitome of a big goofy pup. When he laid splayed out on the floor, I had to resist the temptation to get down there and cuddle with him.
Cowboy and Ziggy’s moms won my auction basket at this year’s LI-Dog Pints n Paws Luau and I was so happy that they brought in these two lovable guys. I’ve always thought it would be fun to have one big dog and one tiny dog, and after meeting them, it’s definitely on my bucket list. They even have a couple of cat siblings at home to round out their furry family. That’s the life!

So I shot Addison’s newborn photos and then I blinked...and it’s her 1st birthday already! She came back to the studio for some Christmas shots and a 1st birthday shoot, because she’s a December baby. We started off in her adorable Christmas dress, then did some family photos. Then she changed into a very cute 1st birthday outfit...and then...the cake smash!!
Boy, did she get into it. She was quite literally covered in frosting from head to toe. I’m not quite sure how much cake ended up in her mouth, but I know she enjoyed it immensely. Her parents had quite a cleanup on their hands afterwards, but she left the studio squeaky clean, with maybe just a tad bit of frosting behind the ears! In my opinion, we should all attack our birthday cakes with as much gusto as Addison! Well, maybe more like half the gusto. A quarter, at least. :D
Happy 1st birthday, kiddo!

I was so glad to have Gianna, Cadence and Coda come back to the studio for the second time for Christmas photos. Gianna got so much taller since I last saw her, but Cadence and Coda were the same sweet, energetic pups! They’re seasoned pros at this point, so they did a great job looking at the camera.
It really means a lot to me when families come back year to year. It makes me really glad to know they were happy with my work and they trust me to continue capturing their family’s memories. If you'd like to see their photos from last Christmas, click here!
It was so cute to see how these two big pups snuggle up to Gianna. Seeing them together reminded me of the quote " Whoever said diamonds are a girl's best friend never had a dog". Truer words have never been spoken.

Happy December! I'm a huge lover of fall, so I have a little difficulty letting go of my orange garland and pumpkin decorations. I do love Christmas too, though, so I guess it's time to embrace that, in the timeless words of Ned Stark...winter is coming. Even though the decorations in my house are only just turning from orange and yellow to red and green, as a photographer, I've been fully entrenched in Christmas photos since October. Get ready, you're about to get hit with a deluge of Christmas posts the likes of which you've never seen before. I'm starting off with photos of my wonderful dog nephew, Ash, who you've probably seen 100 times already :) He looked so very handsome in his Christmas sweater, which was especially cute on the red brick backdrop that Ash's dad (AKA my brother-in-law Will) gave me. Enjoy!

I’m very excited to announce I’ll be shooting holiday pet portraits at Barkfield Road in East Northport on November 5th from 10am-6pm. Barkfield Road is a boutique pet supply store with an amazing “barkery” with adorable baked goods for dogs. Owner Carol is a dedicated animal lover and I’m so happy she contacted me to partner up for this fun event. Proceeds will benefit the Dotty McMorrow Sandmann Animal Rescue Fund, which provides financial assistance to families who are having difficulty caring for their pet’s medical needs. The Dotty Fund helps to keep pets at home with their owners instead of ending up in a shelter. I’m very proud to be helping out such a worthy organization.
Photo sessions will run for 30 minutes with a sitting fee of $25. Sitting fees will be waived if clients purchase more than $25 of prints or products. I’ll be offering small prints, metal ornaments and holiday cards. Products will be available for pickup at Barkfield Road 2 weeks after the event. I’ll be bringing a white backdrop with twinkly lights shown below. I’ll also have holiday props available for clients to choose from.

Whenever I ask my mom what she wants for any birthday or holiday, the answer is always "A day to do nothing but sit on the couch and watch tv.....and nice photos of you two girls!" No matter how many photos she has of my sister and me, she always wants more. It's the gift that moms never get tired of. Being that I'm a photographer, she gets her wish plenty. A lot of moms don't, though. Life gets in the way and families go years without getting professional photos taken. That's a real shame, because one thing all parents know is that kids grow up fast.
So if you're still looking for that perfect gift for the amazing mom in your life, I'm happy to offer gift certificates for portrait sessions. You can buy them in any amount, but a purchase of $150 covers a full session fee and comes with a free framed 8x10. Sessions can take place in my Farmingville home studio or a location of your choice within Suffolk County, Long Island. Gift certificates can be issued physically or digitally.

Looking out my window today, it's not feeling very springy out there quite yet. Even though winter is still hanging on for a little while longer, I already have the warm weather on my mind. I've been setting up my studio for Easter and Spring mini sessions! Mini sessions are shorter in length than my normal sessions, but just as fun (maybe even more fun for Dad, because they're over sooner)! Although options for backgrounds and outfit changes are limited, a lot can be achieved in these 30 minute sessions. Sessions can take place at my home studio in Farmingville or outdoors at a location of your choice within Suffolk County. With a reduced session fee of $75 and a special mini session product menu, this is a great way to celebrate the new season with some beautiful photos of little ones, furry ones or the whole family.
Here is the studio setup I've put together for these sessions. I have to admit, I'm pretty proud of those bunnies on the wall. I traced and cut them out from thin sheets of cork and glued cotton balls to their cute little bunny butts. I love when I get to be crafty in my line of work.

Everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's Day! This is why on March 17th, I trade my macaroni for corned beef & cabbage and become Laura O'Paesano, if only for one day. You don't have to hail from the Emerald Isle to wear this printable crown I created for the occasion, so bust out your green crayons and avoid getting pinched!
Right-click the image below and then select "Save Image As".
It's sized to an 8.5x11.
Enjoy!

Everyone who knows Ash knows he loves giving kisses. If you put your face at Ash's level, you're going to get kissed, whether you like it or not. He's a very romantic pup. I think that's why he did such a good job playing doggy Cupid in this Valentine's Day themed photo shoot. He also seemed like he had a lot of fun nosing around in the new tulle backdrop I got for the studio. I think that's going to be a fun prop for future sessions. I'm looking forward to using it more!
