I'm so glad the Islip Public Library asked me back for a second time to do another pet portrait program on their garden terrace. It's such a beautiful spot. We got even more dogs this year! I was so excited to see so many furry faces there for a photo. The dogs were so well-behaved and a lot of them did a great job "smiling" for the camera :) These programs are always a lot of fun for me. I love to meet these awesome dogs and their owners, and I think it's really important for dog lovers to get beautiful photos of your furry family members. Thanks so much to the Islip Public Library for having me back, and to all the patrons who participated in the program!

Say hello to little Leyla! I had the pleasure of meeting her and her older sister Kaira when I photographed their family portraits and then her newborn photos last month. I’ve known her parents for several years, because they worked at the physical therapy office my sister and I went to years ago. They were just dating when we went there, so it’s really sweet to see that they’re now married with two adorable kiddos!
This session was photographed in their home. It was so great to be able to catch up with them and meet Kaira and Leyla! Kaira was so sweet with her new baby sister. I can tell they're going to be the best of friends. I know from experience that having a sister so close in age means that you're always going to have a play mate and a confidant in your life at all times. Here are my favorite photos from the session!

I’ve been photographing the Cameron family since little Emily was christened. I couldn’t believe when I saw them this year how big her and her brother Thomas have gotten! These kids are serious pros when it comes to getting their picture taken. They were busting out smiles right and left. Talk about game faces. Emily even gives a little flourish with her hand in many frames. This is a kid destined for the screen.
Thomas, not one to be outdone, impressed me with his unbelievable climbing skills. He got up between two huge rock faces like he had mountain climbing gear on. Someone needs to warn Spider-Man that this kid is going to put him out of a job.

I was really glad that the Middle Country Public Library asked me back again this year for pet holiday portraits. A lot of patrons and pets came in for a photo after they were done at the pet parade that same morning. Since it was close to Halloween, we had a lot of people switching gears from pumpkins to pine trees when they got to the adorable winter setup the library provided. I was happy to see some cats come in this time, because we hadn’t had any the year before! I’d like to thank all the families that brought in their fur babies, especially the ones who were repeats from last year. I hope to continue these kinds of programs at Middle Country and lots of other libraries in the future! Here are the photos from the event!

Andrew is a remarkable kid. I first met him at my pet portrait program at the Islip Public Library in July. He was the first one there bright and early, and he helped us set up and move around props before the program started. I was really impressed by what a gentleman he was. When his mom called me to book a portrait session to commemorate his achieving his Eagle Scout medal, I was very excited to work with him and his adorable dogs Alpha and Chris again.
Andrew and his love of animals reminds me a lot of myself as a kid. I had so many different kinds of pets when I was younger. I was always convincing my parents to let me have lizards and rodents and birds and dogs and cats. Andrew's family is so similar. At their session, I met a turtle, a HUGE fish, a frog, a bearded dragon, a bunch of chickens and even a hedgehog! I might even be forgetting some, but it was a veritable menagerie in there and I loved it.
Andrew even obtained his Eagle Scout award by helping animals. He worked with the Islip Animal Shelter hosting an adoption fair that got a bunch of pets adopted into their forever homes. There are a lot of happy pets on Long Island that have Andrew to thank. I'd like to congratulate him on obtaining his Eagle Scout medal and wish him lots of luck at his Court of Honor! Here are some of my favorite photos from Andrew's session!

If you've been following my blog, you know that I've photographed just about every step of the way for twin brothers Vincent and Louis. I was honored to continue that by being there to photograph their baptism. If you've ever attended a christening, you know that it can be a stressful time for babies. A church at a baptism is almost never silent. But Vincent and Louis weren't contributing any of the noise that day, because they were all cried out from getting dressed at home! Being as dapper as they are is very difficult. Here are some of my favorite photos from their special day!

I loved being a part of the Furry Friends Portrait Program at the Islip Public Library. It was so much fun meeting all the dogs that came in with their owners. All the pets were so well-behaved and (with the help of my trusty squeaky pig toy) they all looked right into the camera! I got a lot of great shots of these adorable pups and their owners. If you're a patron of the Islip Public Library, I encourage you to go check out their new courtyard where the program was held. It's a really lovely space with beautiful flowers, statues and really comfortable rocking chairs. The dogs definitely loved it!

You might remember the first part of Vincent and Louis' newborn photos that I took in studio. We met at their home a few days after that session for some photos with the whole family, which was a lot of fun. It was a session full of a lot of firsts for me! Their dad Mike is big into cars, and so his other baby was featured in a lot of the photos (his other baby is a Camaro). We even put the twins into a big ol' set of tires. It was something else, for sure.
Please note that the twins were comfortable and safe throughout the session, with their parents either holding onto them or within arms' length at all times. I say that because I don't want other newer photographers to look at these edited final products and think it's ok to throw a baby on a car willy nilly without safety measures involved. Safety always comes first! OK, onto the fun stuff. Enjoy these photos of Vincent and Louis, gearheads in training.

On Saturday, July 15th, I'll be at the Islip Public Library doing a pet portrait program! The library has just had an outdoor courtyard area built and I'll be photographing families and their pets there. The program is open to patrons of the library who are registered for the event. You'll receive one free printed photo. The library asks that all pets be clean and good with other animals. Please bring them leashed, or in a harness or carrier.

This is part 1 of Diana and Mike's maternity photos! We went to two outdoor locations this day, but didn't get everything done that we had planned, so Diana and I got together a few days later to do some more photos in studio.
That session will be posted at a later date, so stay tuned for those!
We started out our photo shoot at Heckscher State Park in East Islip, which overlooks the Great South Bay. This was my first time shooting a session there and I'd love to go back. There were a lot of different beautiful areas that made great backdrops for photography. It was a little windy near the water for some of the props we wanted to incorporate, so we then traveled to the Stony Brook duck pond, the site of the vicious swan attack I survived last winter (read about that here)! Thankfully, there were no repeat waterfowl offenses this time. Diana was a trooper climbing up the big stone steps to the labyrinth there. In fact, she volunteered!
