In May of 2015, I joined a creative project called 52Frames. It's a weekly photo challenge that helps participants improve their photography skills and creativity. This project came into my life at the exact moment I needed it. I found myself in the fifth month of the year, and I hadn't created one single photograph that wasn't for a client. No personal work whatsoever. I was in a creative rut. Taking the time to create just one photograph per week pulled me out of that rut, and brought my photography to another level. Not only did I get my mojo for the art of photography back, I've gained friends from this project, not only online but in real life during our photowalk outings on Long Island and in New York City. I even had the honor of meeting Yosef, the creator of the project, on one of these walks. Since I only joined in week 19 of 2015, 2016 was my first time completing a full calendar year in 52Frames, and it was a huge personal achievement for me. This was a difficult year for me personally and there were times when I just wanted to skip a week, to give up on my goal of becoming a "Weekly Warrior". But I remembered what Yosef always tells us about consistency, and I did it anyway. Some weeks were hits, some were misses (some were resounding flops, even), but I never let myself skip a week and I'm really proud of that. Participating in 52Frames makes me a better photographer for me and for my clients, because I never stop learning from my fellow photographers and growing my skills and creativity. Here is a collage of every photo I submitted for 52Frames 2016. I can't wait to see what 2017 has in store. If you or anyone you know is interested in fostering their photographic talent, visit 52frames.com to learn more.

This happy couple are already the proud parents of two handsome boy cats, but now they're adding a couple of human kids into the mix! Diana and Mike are expecting twins! Double trouble is headed their way in June, and they gathered their family together this weekend for a gender reveal party. Guests were invited to guess whether she's carrying two girls, two boys or one of each. I decided to split the difference and cast my ballot for a boy and a girl. I guessed right at the last one of these shindigs, so I had a good feeling about this! I grabbed my corresponding pink and blue necklaces and waited in anticipation for the cake cutting! And the results are....IT'S TWO BOYS! (I was wrong!) Congratulations, Diana and Mike! I can't wait to meet your two precious little boys. I'm so happy for you! <3 Are you expecting too?
